I am pleased to present to you the vision of the present for the future, which we want to start working on today for tomorrow, so that it expresses all our aspirations and reflects the capabilities of our country.
Success stories always start with a vision, and the most successful visions are those that build on strengths. We trust and know that God Almighty has endowed us with a blessed homeland that is more valuable than oil, as it contains the Two Holy Mosques, the purest place on earth, and the qiblah of more than a billion Muslims. This is our Arab and Islamic depth and is our first success factor.
Our country also possesses huge investment capabilities, and we will seek to make it an engine for our economy and an additional resource for our country, and this is our second success factor.
Our homeland has a strategic geographic location, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the most important gateway to the world as it is a connecting center for the three continents, and it is surrounded by the most important water crossings, and this is our third success factor.
These three factors are the pillars of our vision, whose horizons we explore, and whose features we draw together.
In our homeland, there is an abundance of renewable energy alternatives, and it has generous wealth in gold, phosphates, uranium, and others. And most important of all, our first wealth, which is not equal to any wealth, no matter how big it is: an ambitious people, most of whom are young people, who are the pride of our country and the guarantee of its future with God’s help, and we do not forget that with the help of its people this state was established in very difficult circumstances, when it was unified by King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud May God bless him. With the help of its children, this country will surprise the world again.
We are not worried about the future of the Kingdom, but we look forward to a brighter future that we are able to create - with God's help - with its human, natural and acquired wealth that God has blessed it with. We will not look at what we have lost or lose yesterday or today, but rather we must always go forward .
The future of the Kingdom, brothers and sisters, is promising and promising, God willing, and our dear country deserves more than what has been achieved. We have capabilities that we will double their role and increase their contribution to making this future, and we will do our utmost to give most Muslims around the world the opportunity to visit their Qibla and the place of their hearts.
We want to double our capabilities: We want to transform Aramco from an oil production company into an industrial giant that operates around the world, and turn the Public Investment Fund into the largest sovereign fund in the world, and we will stimulate our major Saudi companies to be transnational and a major player in world markets. We encourage promising companies to grow and become giants. We are keen to keep the armament of our army strong, and at the same time we want to manufacture at least half of its military needs locally, in order to invest our wealth at home, in order to create more job and economic opportunities.
These are the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, as he commanded us to plan work that meets all aspirations and fulfills all wishes.
And based on his guidance, may God protect him, and starting from this day, we will open a wide door towards the future, and from this hour we will start working immediately for tomorrow, for the sake of you - brothers and sisters - and for the sake of your children and our future generations.
What we aspire to is not only to compensate for the shortfall in income, or to preserve the gains and achievements, but our ambition is to build a more prosperous country in which every citizen finds what he desires. The future of our country, which we are building together, will only accept that we make it at the forefront of the countries of the world, with education and qualification, with the opportunities that we build. It is available to all, and advanced services, in employment, health care, housing, entertainment, and others.
We commit ourselves before you to be one of the best countries in the world in effective government performance to serve the citizens, and together we will continue building our country to be, as we all wish, prosperous, strong, based on the arms of its sons and daughters and benefiting from its capabilities, without being dependent on the value of a commodity or the movement of foreign markets.
We have all the factors that enable us to achieve our goals together, and there is no excuse for any of us to stay where we are, or to back down, God forbid.
Our vision for our country, which we want, is a strong, prosperous state that accommodates everyone, whose constitution is Islam and its approach is moderation, that accepts the other. We will welcome competencies from everywhere, and all those who come to join us in building and success will receive all respect.
In the three pillars of our vision: the Arab and Islamic depth, the investment strength, and the importance of the strategic geographical location; We will open a broader scope for the private sector to be a partner, by facilitating its business and encouraging it, to grow and become one of the largest economies in the world, and become an engine for the employment of citizens, and a source of prosperity for the country and well-being for all. This promise is based on cooperation and partnership in bearing responsibility.
We have named this vision (Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030), but we will not wait until then, rather we will immediately start implementing everything we have committed ourselves to, and with you and you, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be a great country that we will all be proud of, God willing.
